Alexander’s Party Like A RAWKstar posts
Nightlife Experience
Alexander was born into the nightlife. Bartending at family parties when he was just a kid and DJing school dances at 11, he has yet to stop.
His high school seemed to be a Mecca of successful nightlife influencers, such as: Mike Dankner, Energy Enerjon, Matt Calderone, and DJ Lil Cee of NYC’s 92.3 Now FM. He honed his promotion skills while throwing and promoting raves, teen nights, and hip-hop shows including: Biggie Smalls, Junior Mafia, Craig Mack, and Puff Daddy. Furthering his resume’, when Alexander was just 15 years old, he went on to run street teams and guest lists at Limelight, Tunnel, The Paladium and Twilo; while continuing to DJ at local bars. When he was 18 he made a name for himself in the hardcore scene by managing and running promotions for local bands.
Hired by Tri-state area promotions company, Industrial Edge Promotions, he moved full-time to booking shows and promoting clubs such as Tequila Joe’s, Tracadero, and The Birch Hill. Eventually he bought out the owners of Industrial Edge and expanded into the Industrial Scene.
Still booking local shows, Industrial Edge signed up to run all New Jersey Promotions for the legendary Industrial Night Albion Batcave in NYC. Albion Batcave owners, Neville Wells and Hal Gould, took the NJ based promotions company to new heights by working new parties and massive shows at places such as Lightlight, World, B.B. Kings, and Jekyl & Hydes.
Later Alexander joined up with Erik and Joe of Tequila Joe’s, to help them open Axis Lounge, in Carlstadt. Turning away from Industrial Edge, Alexander spent 3 years learning everything he could about the club side of the nightlife learning marketing tactics, bartending, managing, booking promoters, bands, etc…
Alexander left Axis for the corporate world of product promotions in nightclubs. Trained by one of the worlds largest companies in marketing and management, he became the man in charge of the New Jersey market. Negotiating with venues, throwing parties for product launches and running nightly teams that went out and spoke directly to the scenes.
He is now the Head Photographer and Editor in Chief of PartyLikeaRAWKstar.com, he also shoots and writes the PartyLikeaRAWKstar column in NJ’s #1 nightlife magazine Steppin Out Magazine SO-Mag.com.
Alexander’s Photography
When he was a child he always had an affinity for the camera, as you can see.
Nevermore than a passing interest until shooting some nightlife shots for the Tequila Joe’s website. Always carrying a camera he would shoot pictures of bands and parties for his personal website and Industrial Edge Promotions.
As Industrial Edge faded he took up a part-time gig with the now defunct Bar-Seen.com. Al
exander became frustrated with the direction the website was taking and the lack of any ownership and the idea for PartyLikeaRAWKstar was born.
Wanting to have to have a much higher quality of images, he set about learning as much as he could about photography and spent ungodly amounts of money on equipment. At this point Alexander probably shoots more nightlife photography then anyone else in the industry. Constantly reading and learning about the subject, Alexander is always striving for that incredible shot.
Alexander is available for events, live shoots, promo shots, and more. If you’re looking for someone who shoots that dramatic, dingy RAWKstar look, he’s the guy.
